Pencoed RFC. was established in 1888 with the clubhouse situated on the eastern edge of Felindre Rd. In what was “The Verlands”, once one of the largest private houses in Pencoed. In 1980 the Mini & Junior section was formed, bringing us up to the present day where we now run age groups from under 7’s right through to under 16’s.
Pencoed RFC takes great pride in being the home club of current Welsh Internationals Gareth Cooper, and Gavin Henson plus recently retired British Lions Gareth Thomas and Scott Gibbs, all of whom progressed through our mini & junior section to perform with distinction on the world stage.
Our Objectives:
As laid down in the WRU Rugby Pathway handbook, it is our aim to make rugby fun, exiting and enjoyable for all young players, whilst developing their skills, confidence and self-discipline. We encourage a strong & competitive spirit whilst promoting sportsmanship & teamwork. At Pencoed results are secondary only to the development of the individual's abilities and their enjoyment of the game.
Training Nights:
If you would like to be part of an exciting mini & junior setup, then come along to our training sessions at the Woodlands fields, Pencoed. Training takes place with WRU qualified coaches & referees, with separate training areas under floodlights. There are also changing rooms and showers available.
Training takes place on the following evenings:
